A friendly, approachable team of architects, technicians, and construction experts.

The Team

The core team at ARC comes from a shared background in architectural design, with Architects, technologists, developers and construction specialists. We manage a much wider network of contractors, engineers and specialist consultants who we have, over the years, built a strong relationship with. Between our core team and our wider network we are perfectly placed to design, detail and develop projects of scale across the country.

Portrait of Ewan Cassell

Ewan Cassell

Director, Client Manager

Having trained as an Architect, Ewan decided to expand his knowledge base through a career in property development before ARC. With over 10 years of professional experience under his belt he has aquired a varied skillset in project management, technical design and on-site delivery. Ewan is the driving force behind much of the work that we do. When he isn't on site you can typically find Ewan in the Lake District, where he enjoys detaching himself from the built environment. He will, however, always have his boots on and laptop at the ready.

The Space

We share our spacious studio, the aptly-named ARC Space, with a host of local creative talent, to foster collaboration and community spirit.

Some members of Arc Design Studio gathered around some work

Having spent many years working within various architecture practices, we were consistently surprised by the lack of creativity and inspiration instilled by these spaces. They were sterile, impersonal and, at times, hostile spaces that did not work to inspire or promote our design processes. We strongly believe in the potential of place to positively support people. Badly designed spaces can have a negative impact on the health and wellbeing of those within it and so we set out, within our own space, to design an environment that actively promotes the needs of those that use it. With spaces to work, think, draw, research, socialise, play and eat; ARC Space was designed around the needs of our practice, and the wider creative community that we share it with.
